Join us for a powerful talk on “human skills” and how to build equity in tech through empathy and self-awareness with featured speaker Del Likins. Likins will cover the following key topics:
Ego’s inclination for self-centeredness, and the practice of “centering” other voices
Mindfulness for holding discomfort and difference
“The power of pause” and what to do with the impulse to fix
Ego habits common in methods of oppression: silencing, filling the space, explaining
Mindful habits common in building equity: allowing for discomfort, deep listening and skillful responses
