Why do you volunteer for PDXWIT?

I have worked in tech on and off for years. When I moved to PDX in 2018, I was searching for community as I knew exactly 0 people here. Someone mentioned PDXWIT to me and I attended a few events and decided to volunteer after realizing what an active org it was. It was not just for community, but also for contribution.  

What is your day job or another passion of yours (besides PDXWIT)?

I currently work for TriMet in their Real Property Department, but I am actually an Organizational Psychologist (I occasionally take on side gigs in my field). I have a passion for knowledge sharing, plants and comfort (in the form of self and community care).

What has been your favorite PDXWIT project, initiative or event you have participated in as a volunteer? Why?

I enjoy writing for the blog team as well as helping the BIPOC committee. There is no particular favorite - it is all fun and challenging work!

What is something people may not know about you?

I am super crafty -- from flower arranging to altering my thrift-store finds to clay work, painting and drawing. It has been keeping me busy during the pandemic.
